Anthropic’s Third-Quarter Loss Narrows to USD 23.29 Billion

Anthropic, the American company and one of the main players in artificial intelligence (AI), saw its loss narrow to USD 23.29 billion in the third quarter from USD 66.3 billion in the second quarter. Revenue rose to USD 16.96 billion from USD 11.56 billion. This follows from an updated version of the document that the firm submits to the regulator and potential investors ahead of its stock market debut. Anthropic’s initial public offering (IPO) could become the largest ever carried out.

Anthropic and Skyrocketing Revenue: Preparations for a Record IPO Reach Their Peak

In the first nine months of this year, revenue rose 1,200 percent year on year to USD 33.24 billion. The net loss since the beginning of this year increased to USD 104 billion from USD 25.1 billion in the same period last year. However, most of this year’s loss was caused by the revaluation of convertible bonds and derivative liabilities, Reuters news agency reported.

Anthropic filed its application for a stock market listing in late October. The company plans to begin trading on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker symbol ANT. The firm has not yet disclosed how many shares it plans to offer. According to people familiar with the matter, the size of the offering is expected to match, or even surpass, SpaceX’s record IPO.
