Chinese group Xiaomi is preparing to launch sales of its electric vehicles in Europe in 2027. The company has signed a preliminary agreement with eight automotive dealer groups in Germany, thereby laying the foundations for its planned entry into the European market. This was announced by the company at the IFA technology trade fair in Berlin, according to DPA agency.

Xiaomi prepares for European entry. Will build dealer and service network with leading German partners
Partners include Emil Frey Germany, Ernst Dello Gruppe, Autohaus Dinnebier, Hahn Automobile, LUEG Mobility Gruppe, Fett & Wirtz, SPT Avior and Penske-Jacobs. The collaboration aims to create the foundation for a comprehensive dealer and service network. Xiaomi thus wants to build the necessary infrastructure for customers before entering the European market.
In China, Xiaomi has, according to its own data, delivered more than 700,000 vehicles to customers since launching sales of its SU7 electric sedan in spring 2024. Until recently, the company hesitated to enter the European market because its production capacities were fully utilized due to high demand in the domestic market.

Xiaomi rejects cheap cars and bets on premium segment. Vehicle production complements giant connected ecosystem
Unlike competitors trying to gain market share with cheap electric vehicles, Xiaomi focuses on the segment of premium and technologically advanced cars with higher margins. Its SU7 model range has become the best-selling sedan in China priced above 200,000 yuan. The new YU7 sport utility vehicle then received more than 240,000 binding orders in the first 18 hours after market launch. The automotive business has thus become one of Xiaomi’s main growth drivers alongside smartphones.
The company is the world’s third-largest smartphone manufacturer by market share after American Apple and South Korean Samsung. Car production is part of the “Human x Car x Home” strategy, which aims to connect automobiles, smartphones and home electronics through its own operating system and artificial intelligence. At the IFA trade fair, Xiaomi also announced that it wants to expand its offering of Mijia-branded home appliances and its own XRING series semiconductors in Europe.
