American automaker Tesla increased its revenue in the second quarter by 26 percent year-on-year to $28.24 billion (approximately 600 billion CZK). However, net profit fell by five percent to $1.11 billion and operating profit plummeted by 57 percent to $398 million. The operating margin decreased to 1.4 percent from last year’s 4.1 percent. This emerges from results that the company released overnight. The company belongs to the world’s richest person, Elon Musk, who is also its CEO.

Tesla’s historic milestone
Revenue from car sales rose by 23 percent to $20.52 billion, while income in the energy and energy storage sector increased by 13 percent to $3.14 billion. Revenue from the services division and other activities rose by half to $4.58 billion. The company reported a record 480,126 delivered vehicles in the quarter, representing a year-on-year increase of a quarter. Deliveries of battery energy storage also increased significantly.
Tesla further stated that it has started production of the autonomous Cybercab vehicle at its Texas Gigafactory and continues to expand the Robotaxi service in several American cities. At the same time, it is investing in expanding battery production capacity, artificial intelligence (AI) computing infrastructure, and semiconductor manufacturing. The company also announced that it has surpassed $100 billion in revenue for the first time over the past 12 months.

Tesla is the world’s largest electric vehicle manufacturer by market value and, in addition to passenger cars, is also developing business in battery storage, autonomous driving, robotic technologies, and artificial intelligence. In recent years, the company has invested significantly in new production capacity and infrastructure to support further growth in both the automotive and energy business.
Musk has been significantly engaged in politics in recent years. In January 2025, he became involved in the election campaign in Germany to support the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, characterized as far-right. He also supported American President Donald Trump in the election campaign and, after Trump’s victory, led a group for streamlining government administration (DOGE) for several months. However, relations between Trump and Musk have gradually deteriorated over time.
