Musk’s Tesla automaker increased revenue by a quarter, but profit declined

American automaker Tesla increased its revenue in the second quarter by 26 percent year-on-year to $28.24 billion (approximately 600 billion CZK). However, net profit fell by five percent to $1.11 billion and operating profit plummeted by 57 percent to $398 million. The operating margin decreased to 1.4 percent from last year’s 4.1 percent. This emerges from results that the company released overnight. The company belongs to the world’s richest person, Elon Musk, who is also its CEO.

The company reported a record 480,126 delivered vehicles in the quarter, representing a year-on-year increase of a quarter. Deliveries of battery energy storage also increased significantly.

Tesla further stated that it has started production of the autonomous Cybercab vehicle at its Texas Gigafactory and continues to expand the Robotaxi service in several American cities.
