Harold Hamm
Loss: USD 4.3 billion
American businessman Harold Glenn Hamm, who is mainly involved in the oil and gas trade, suffered a loss of $4.3 billion during the pandemic. The value of billionaire Hamm’s fortune now stands at $5.6 billion. The current situation has cost the CEO of oil production company Continental Resources more than 40% of his fortune. The oil industry was hit by a price war and a significant drop in the use of air and road transport in March last year, resulting in a rapid decline in oil demand. Although Continental Resources shares have partially recovered, they have declined by about 45% since the beginning of the year.
