Russia‘s National Coordination Center for computer incidents (NKTsKI) solves a curious case

Two government officers created a computer network for currency mining. Yet, it’s not first such a case.

TASS agency informed about a case of two government officers who used business computers for crypto-currency mining. They created a network connecting different parts of the country. They mined through websites displaying and that was also the case how Rostovvodokanal company was attacked. Once the website was loaded, some crypto-currency was gained.

According to Nikolai Murashov, National Coordination Center for computer incidents, it’s essential that not only government offices pay attention to their networks. “Up to 80 % of free capacity of every computer may be misused for crypto-currency mining. User of each device many not even know about it,“ he said to TASS.

Nevertheless, it was neither first nor last such a case.
