Decline in inflation boosted stock indices
The Dow Jones index, which includes stocks of 30 leading American companies, gained 0.02 percent and closed at 52,508.27 points. The broader S&P 500 index rose 0.38 percent to 7,543.59 points, and the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite increased 0.90 percent to 26,107.01 points.
The U.S. Department of Labor announced that consumer prices in the USA increased 3.5 percent year-over-year in June.
