Shiba Inu is one of the most well-known cryptocurrencies that started as a so-called meme coin. What began as a satirical project has gradually evolved into an ecosystem with its own infrastructure, ambitions, and millions of investors worldwide. Yet one question remains constant: will Shiba Inu reach 1 cent?
The problem of massive token supply
The main obstacle to significant price growth for Shiba Inu is the number of tokens in circulation, which reaches hundreds of trillions.
If SHIB were to reach $0.01, its total market capitalization would rise to approximately $5.9 trillion. According to an analysis by KuCoin, this would exceed the peak value of the entire cryptocurrency market.
In other words, such a scenario would require either unprecedented market growth or a fundamental change in the token’s economics.

Shiba Inu price predictions: what’s realistic
Looking at future price predictions, expectations are far more conservative.
For example, Token Metrics estimates that by 2026, the price could range between $0.000014 and $0.000058. Even long-term forecasts toward 2030 do not expect dramatic growth—rather gradual increases in fractions of a cent.
For investors, this means one thing: the idea that Shiba Inu will reach 1 cent is more of a marketing narrative than a realistic target.
Token burning: helpful, but not enough
Token burning—permanently removing tokens from circulation—plays a major role in discussions about Shiba Inu’s future.
According to MEXC, the burn rate can increase significantly at times, with tens of millions of tokens removed weekly. However, compared to the total supply, this is still only a small fraction.
To meaningfully impact price, burning would need to occur at a much larger scale and consistently over time, which remains unlikely for now.

Shiba Inu is no longer just a meme coin
More interesting than the price itself is the project’s evolution. The meme coin market is changing, and by 2026, hype alone is no longer enough.
Shiba Inu is attempting to move forward, for example through its Shibarium network and broader ecosystem expansion. Real-world utility may be key to long-term growth.
Without tangible use cases and broader adoption, SHIB will remain largely a speculative asset driven by market sentiment.
Can Shiba Inu reach 1 cent?
The short answer: under current conditions, no.
There is no realistic scenario or timeline in which Shiba Inu will reach 1 cent without major changes in its structure or the broader crypto market. That doesn’t mean the project has no future—it simply means expectations need to be separated from reality.
Shiba Inu remains one of the most visible projects among retail investors, driven largely by its community and ability to attract attention.
However, future price growth will depend less on hype and more on technological development, real-world use, and supply dynamics.
