Brazil’s Patria invest into renewable energy

Brazil’s investment company Patria Investimentos began with renewable energy. To company has gathered capital to invest into solar and wind projects. Future capacity of these projects should be roughly 800 megawatts.

A subsidiary company Patria Essentia Energia should begin construction of the projects in the second half of 2020, and energy should be delivered in 2022 already. The projects will need investment of almost $600 million, three well-informed sources told Reuters.

A part of the project is solar plant with installed capacity of 415 megawatts. The project will be called “Sun of the Sertao”, which will be built in Bahia, the northeastern Brazil’s state. The project will be developed by Energia Capital, which recently sold its majority ownership in Patria, yet remains a minority stakeholder. A second project represents wind plant called “Winds of Sao Vitor” with expected capacity of 380-megawatt. The installed capacity of both renewable energy projects could reach roughly 800 megawatts.
