El proyecto deber\u00eda aprobarse en forma definitiva a m\u00e1s tardar durante el a\u00f1o 2022 y costar\u00e1 cerca de seis mil millones de euros. El inicio de las operaciones del gasoducto EastMed se espera para finales de 2025.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">En la zona oriental del Mediterr\u00e1neo transcurren en la actualidad los trabajos de prospecci\u00f3n. El gasoducto tendr\u00e1 una longitud de 1900 kil\u00f3metros y su capacidad de transporte ser\u00e1 de hasta diez mil millones de metros c\u00fabicos de gas al a\u00f1o, con posible ampliaci\u00f3n a una cantidad casi doble.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">La extracci\u00f3n de gas en dicha zona, a unos 120 kil\u00f3metros de la costa israel\u00ed, comenz\u00f3 ya a principios de este a\u00f1o en el campo gas\u00edfero denominado Leviathan donde se estima que hay 450 mil millones de metros c\u00fabicos de gas. Otros aproximadamente 200 mil millones se encuentran en el campo gas\u00edfero Aphrodite.
